Updates the Python on Vercel student projects to use Vercel Services, with separate and roots in both the starter and completed example. Adds service routing and a binding to the completed project, and reads inventory at request time. Updates Next.js and FastAPI dependencies and rewrites the README for setup, local development, and deployment. Replaces the bundled Cursor course skill with instructions for installing the shared Academy skill. Validation: passed. Application tests and builds were not run as part of opening this PR.

The Python on Vercel course currently teaches a root-level Next.js app with FastAPI in . This revision gives each application a service root and uses the current Vercel Services configuration to deploy them together. Move the starter and completed example into and directories, keeping the Hazel Home app and its inventory routes. Add explicit public routing and a service binding in the completed example. The starter leaves configuration and frontend wiring as course exercises. Replace the completed frontend's public-hostname fetch with a request through the generated backend binding. Correct clone/working-directory instructions and update the README and bundled companion skill. The matching six-lesson revision has been uploaded to the Academy draft branch. Coordinate merging with publication so the linked starter and lessons stay aligned. The installable companion skill is updated separately in vercel-labs/academy-skills. Validation: both frontends type-check using installed Next.js 16.3.6 types; configuration checked against Vercel's current schema; data-loader checks cover binding URL resolution, uncached fetching, and missing-binding/backend errors; Python sources compile and preserve the eight-item inventory and routes. All 10 course MDX files compile, and the lesson configuration/full-page solution match this repository. Services runtime routing, a full build, and deployment have not been run; workspace instructions reserve dev servers and builds for the maintainer. This PR remains a draft pending those checks.
