The documentation claims that enables locale support, but that did not happen for me today when I installed it. No mention of locale support. When I downloaded the release binary...
Recent fixes
On my M1 Mac 26.5.1, running gives "2026 M06 10, Wed 15:38:11". Parsing this with fails with a parse error. The "flexible" option should be capable of parsing the tool's own output.
This should set the ground to avoid having the weird output when the locale isn't known. This won't fix it entirely because the environment variable still needs to be set. But once we have the ability to read and convert a POSIX locale to a Unicode locale, then things should Just Work in most cases with this being enabled by default.
