The published imports from with no extension. Because the package is , TypeScript treats the declarations as ESM, and under (or ) relative imports need an explicit extension, included. Consumers without get this: Basically, copies the JSDoc path from into the declaration unchanged, and this repo's tsconfig doesn't use nodenext, so it never catches it. already uses extensions. This fixes the source import and regenerates the declaration, and adds a patch changeset. I checked it in a minimal nodenext consumer: 1.1.2 fails with the error above and the patched types pass. We ran into this while adding message-box to SvelteKit, which currently excludes its generator script from typechecking to work around it.
